They have a symmetrical form with layers of petals, often resembling roses. Japanese camellias prefer partial shade and acidic, well-draining soil. They are relatively low-maintenance plants once established, requiring regular watering, occasional pruning to maintain shape and remove dead or damaged growth, and protection from extreme temperatures. With proper care, Japanese camellias can add beauty and charm to gardens and landscapes, particularly during the cooler months when they bloom.

Water deeply, allowing the water to penetrate the root zone. Ensure proper drainage to prevent waterlogging, as overly wet soil can lead to root rot.
